With the Edison Institute forecasting over 18 million electric vehicles on US roads by 2030, Consumers Energy, the nation’s third largest combo utility, set out to create a new section of their website dedicated to electric vehicle ownership.
In addition to promoting the use of electric vehicles and educating the public about electric vehicle ownership, this new digital experience is the centerpiece of the PowerMIDrive initiative. PowerMIDrive is a multi-year 10 million dollar charger rebate program program to make it easier for owners of electric vehicles to charge their vehicles and to ensure Michigan’s electric grid is prepared for the growing electric vehicle market.
Less than two months after the launch of the new digital experience, Consumers Energy had received a strong response to the program, awarding over 125 rebates for the installations of electric vehicle chargers state-wide.
